Tamtron Solutions' R500-UHF is a reader that uses the UHF 868 MHz band freely usable in Europe for its remote identification functions. It's a high-capacity large range remote reader with integrated antennas. It excels in the bulk reading of passive transponders in retail and logistics markets.

The reading range of R500-UHF is 2–5 meters, and it can also write to transponders at a range of 2–4 meters. Both paper transponders and thicker plastic transponders can be used with the R500-UHF, and multiple devices can be connected to each other to cover larger areas. Up to four R500-UHF's can be intraconnected to form reader gates for easy management of wider reading ranges.

The reader can identify several dozen transponders at once, regardless of whether the transponders are stationary or in motion. This makes the R500-UHF ideal for remote reading for logistics.
